We at Dog Abusers fight to end all forms of abuse against man’s best friend. Unfortunately, far too often, those with badges get away with the most horrid forms of animal abuse—using their authority as a shield to shoot and kill dogs without accountability. Law enforcement officers are often treated as if they are above the law, and their actions reflect this disturbing reality.

That’s why Dog Abusers has launched a petition for the “Above the Paw Act.” This proposed legislation will be pushed at the state, local, and federal levels. Its main purpose is to ensure that when officers use deadly force against a dog, the incident is investigated and prosecuted with the same seriousness as if the victim were human. Our goal is to hold officers accountable for unjustified killings of dogs—a pattern that has gone unpunished for years.

We demand that all police departments and law enforcement agencies immediately suspend any personnel who discharge their firearm at a canine, pending a thorough investigation.
